Axel-Paulsen jump

- 1. ice-skating.
- A jump in figure skating in which the skater starts from the forward outside edge of one skate, makes a turn and a half in the air, and comes down on the backward outside edge of the other skate. A similar jump but with two and a half turns in the air is called a double axel and one with three and a half turns is a triple axel.
