    1. A collection of people or things.
      Thesaurus: group, gathering, association, crowd, multitude, assembly, array, body, throng, mass.
    2a. A gathering together;
    2b. The act of gathering together;
    2c. The state of being gathered together.
    3. The technique (popular in the 1950s at the time of the revival of Dadaism) of assembling and fixing together various materials, eg paper, wood, metal, sacks, rubbish or even crushed motor cars, or objects that occur naturally such as grasses, stones, shells, etc to create a work of art that functions as a three-dimensional whole.
