    5. An association of workers in a newspaper office, or a printing- or publishing-house, usually belonging to a trade union.
Etymology: 13c: from French chapele, from Latin cappella, diminutive of cappa cloak, ie the cloak of St Martin, which was kept in a shrine, to which the word became attached.
