    1. An evergreen tree or shrub which has oval leaves, white fragrant flowers and red fleshy fruits.
    2. The seeds of this plant, called beans, roasted whole or ground to a powder.
    3. A popular drink, usually containing caffeine, which is prepared from the roasted and ground beans of the coffee plant.
    4. The brown colour of the drink when mixed with milk.
Etymology: 17c: from Turkish kahveh, from Arabic qahwah coffee or wine.
