    1. A passageway connecting parts of a building or off which rooms open.

    2. On a train: a passageway giving access to the compartments.
    3. A strip of land from a landlocked country through foreign territory, giving access eg to a port.
    4. A restricted route through the air that air traffic must follow.
Etymology: 17c: French, from Italian corridore place for running, from correre to run.
