      A mineral composed of calcium magnesium carbonate, formed by the replacement of limestone.
    2. A sedimentary carbonate rock (dolostone) containing more than 50 per cent dolomite.
Etymology: 18c: named after the Dolomites, the mountain range in which it is found.
