      (formula C6H12O6) the most common six-carbon monosaccharide in living cells, and in animals the main form in which energy derived from carbohydrates is transported around the bloodstream.
    2. A concentrated solution of the products of breakdown of starch, used in the confectionery industry, for canning fruit, etc.
      Form: glucose syrup (usually)
