    1. A place or building devoted to teaching, especially literature and philosophy.
    2. Aristotelian philosophy and those who follow it.
      Form: Lyceum
    3. An educational institution which organizes concerts and lectures, mostly on literature and science, for the public.
Etymology: 16c: from Greek Lykeion, from lykeios an epithet of Apollo, whose temple stood next to the garden in Athens where Aristotle taught and gave it its name.
