    1. rather formal
      A way of doing something, or of living, acting, happening, operating, etc.
      Example: a new mode of transport

    2. A fashion or style, eg in clothes or art.
      Example: the latest mode

    3. computing.

      Any of several systems according to which notes in an octave are or were arranged;
      Example: Lydian mode
