    2. In a space vehicle: a separate self-contained part used for a particular purpose.
      Example: lunar module
    3. education.
      A set course forming a unit in a training scheme, degree programme, etc.
    4. archit.
      A measure, eg the semi-diameter of a column, used to fix the proportions of other parts.
Etymology: 16c: French, from Latin modulus a small measure.
