      The name given to the hypothetical supercontinent that is thought to have represented the entire landmass of the Earth about 200 million years ago, before it drifted apart to form Laurasia and Gondwanaland, which themselves drifted apart eventually forming the present continents of the Earth.
Etymology: 1920s: from pan- + Greek ge earth.
