      Form: the Third Reich (in full)
Etymology: 1920s: German, meaning ‘kingdom'; the First Reich spanned the period of the Holy Roman Empire (962‐1806) and the Second Reich the Hohenzollern empire (1871‐1918), although they are not referred to as such in English.
