      A slow-moving motor vehicle that has two large rear wheels and a high seat, and which is used especially for pulling farm machinery, heavy loads, etc.
    2. A short vehicle with a cab and an extremely powerful engine, which is used to pull heavy loads such as the trailer of an articulated lorry.
      Form: tractor unit (also)
    3. Another name for a traction engine.
Etymology: Early 20c: Latin, from trahere, tractum to draw or drag.
