    1. To move (especially wild animals) from one place to another.
    2. To move (a substance in solution) from one part to another. In plants this occurs in the phloem of the vascular system, and in animals it usually occurs by osmosis.
    3. genetics.
      To move (part of a chromosome) to a different position.
