    2. A board of people who have been appointed to inquire into a specified matter or dispute and to adjudicate or give judgement on it. See also industrial tribunal.
      Example: took her case to the rent tribunal
    3. A seat or bench in a court for a judge or judges.
Etymology: 16c: Latin, from tribunus head of a tribe.
